Columbia’s professional chorus, Colla Voce, directed by Larry Wyatt presents a special concert of sacred Jewish music Thursday, January 28, 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Cathedral, 1100 Sumter St., Columbia. The concert will feature David and Goliath by Israeli composer Aharon Harlap for this U.S. premiere and the first performance outside of Israel. Also on the program is the premiere of a new arrangement of Shacharit, composer Meira Warshauer’s setting of the Jewish service, newly scored for organ, harp and percussion, with its original vocal forces, and Warshauer’s Akhat Sha’alti (One thing I ask) for chorus and percussion. Vocalists on the program are soloists Serena Hill, Aaron Cates and Jacob Will, with narrator Elena Martinez-Vidal and organist Kenneth Miller. Sponsors include the Columbia Jewish Federation and Consulate General of Israel.
