The University of South Carolina continues its twenty-first annual Fall Literary Festival Wednesday, Oct. 21 with Kelly Starling Lyons, the second of three free, virtual events with celebrated poets and authors.
Lyons is an award-winning children’s book author and teaching artist whose books center on Black heroes and stories that celebrate family, friendship and heritage. Her titles span early readers, chapter books and picture books, nonfiction and fiction, and include the Jada Jones series, Dream Builder: The Story of Architect Philip Freelon, and Sing a Song: How “Lift Every Voice & Sing” Inspired Generations.
This virtual event begins at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Nikky Finney will read Wednesday, Oct. 14 and George Singleton will read Wednesday, Oct. 28.
