Virtual 24-hour play creation event over three weekends.
Trustus Theatre is taking its popular 24-hour theatre event and making it virtual. Over the course of three weekends, six plays will be written, rehearsed, and performed LIVE in just 24 hours. At 7:00pm each Friday before the Saturday broadcast, we’ll be announcing two teams that include a playwright, a director, four actors, and a design team. Following some prompts given by Trustus, our illustrious playwrights will immediately get to work on a brand new 15-minute play that will be performed live the next night! Each broadcast will feature two new 15-minute plays.
Because we’re going virtual, we’re reaching out across the country to bring our Company members together with past company members and family for a truly special “homecoming.” Playwrights include Jon Tuttle, Lori Minor, Tangie Beaty, Stephen Brown, and Mary Winn Heider. Special guest actors include Tony Nominee Jenn Colella (Broadway: Come From Away, If/Then, Urban Cowboy), Monica Wyche (TV: For Life, The Looming Tower, Law and Order: SVU), Jonathan Whitton (2014 MAC Award Winner), and Leandra Ellis-Gaston (Broadway: Tina: The Tina Turner Musical). The roster is still coming together, so stay tuned for more info and DON’T MISS FEST24: HOMECOMING!
