With no camp this year, Historic Columbia is going back in time to relive activities from past summers.

In 2018, Historic Columbia taught campers about the peace movement that took place in the United States in response to the Vietnam War. It was a time of protest and change, but also music.
Follow the instructions here and start stringing along to your favorite tunes.

Materials Needed:

  1. 2 Plates
  2. 3 rubber bands
  3. Paint Stick -Tip: You can often find paint sticks available for free in the paint section of stores likes Lowes or Home Depot
  4. Paint, markers, or crayons
  5. Paint Brush
  6. Glue
  7. Stapler

Instructions:

  1. Stack the two plates together so that the sides you eat from are facing each other and staple the plates together
  2. Decorate one side of the plates using paint, markers, or crayons
  3. Glue the paint stick to the side that is not decorate dad allow to dry
  4. Add the “guitar strings” by stretching the rubber bands around the paper plate
  5. Get creative and make a music video for your favorite song using your new guitar!
