Behind-the-Scenes Tour: Wavering Place Plantation

Behind-the-Scenes Tour: Wavering Place Plantation

Presented by Historic Columbia at Wavering Place Plantation

Historic Columbia is excited to showcase this spectacular property that received a 2015 HC Preservation Award for its Kitchen Dependency Rehabilitation.

Owned by the Adams family since 1768, Wavering Place Plantation was acquired by Weston Adams III and Robert Adams VI in 2013 from their uncle Julian C. Adams. In an effort to preserve the property, the current owners have opened the site as an event venue and rehabilitated its circa-1790 kitchen house into a bed and breakfast. The property recently received a 2015 Preservation Award from Historic Columbia for this rehabilitation project.

This tour includes the circa-1850 Greek Revival Plantation House and several outbuildings, including a smokehouse, kitchen dependency and former residence for enslaved workers. Family members will share the history of Wavering Place.

Advance ticket sales only. Tickets available for HC Members only until October 23; non-members may purchase any remaining tickets beginning October 24. Admission for this exclusive tour is $25 for HC members and $30 for non-members and includes light refreshments following the tour. Directions will be sent two days prior to the tour; the plantation is located in Eastover, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Columbia. Please note that portions of this tour are not handicapped accessible.

This Behind-the-Scenes Tour is sponsored by 2nd Wind Heating & Air.
