COLUMBIA, S.C. (September 8, 2015) – For over a decade, local musicians have organized JerryFest to commemorate rock guitarist and music industry icon, Jerry Garcia.  This year’s concert marks the 30th anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s concert in Columbia (October 31, 1985), the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary as a band, and the 100th anniversary of Five Points as Columbia’s original neighborhood village.
 
The Five Points Association, in conjunction with alternative clothing store Loose Lucy’s and concert promoter Listen Local, will be hosting this year’s JerryFest.  JerryFest is a free and family friendly outdoor concert to celebrate the life and art of Jerry Garcia.  Garcia was best known for his work as lead guitarist for the Grateful Dead and several albums as a solo artist.  Garcia was also ranked 46th in Rolling Stones “100 Greatest Guitarists,” near John Lennon ranked 55th and Prince ranked 33rd.

Pre-Party – Friday, October 2, 2015 at The Attic (638 Harden St)  
Official Event – Sunday, October 4, 2015 // 3 – 10pm at the Five Points Fountain 
After-Party – Sunday, October 4, 2015 // 10pm – Midnight at Jake’s (2112 Devine St)
