Creative Youth Network | Free Online Creative Courses

Presented by Creative Youth Network at Online/Virtual Space

Build your confidence, build relationships, build your future.

We believe everyone can find their voice through creativity. Our creative courses can help you to realise your own artistic vision, giving you the skills, tools and networks to develop your creativity and turn your passions into professional success.

Courses are FREE and take place every academic term in our youth clubs across the city. The next term is in summer, between 28th April-8th July and will take place online during the lockdown.

Our friends at Creative Youth Network have set up online! If your’e 11 to 16 you can sign up to a free course and work towards your Bronze Arts Award! All the details are on the website.

Craft & Textiles

About the online course
11-16 and interested in Craft and Textiles? Do you have a Craft or Textiles project that you are working on, maybe you are learning to sew, a keen knitter or love upcycling clothes? Learn how to design and get creative with recycled materials around your home. Get professional advice, tips and ideas about how to explore your craft further and make your own piece of textile artwork.

We will be working through the Bronze Arts Award, a great Level 1 qualification which everyone will achieve by the end of the course. At the end of term we will have an online showcase of the artwork you have produced alongside the work from the two other Creative Courses.

How does it work?
Every Wednesday the group will log on to Zoom (a video call service) so we can go through a ‘how to’ guide of the next steps and also see what everyone has done over the last few days. Then on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning we will arrange a time to have an individual catch up with you so if you need specific help or have any questions about what to do we can go over it 1:1 with you.

As this is an online course we will give you as much support as we can over Zoom but it’s important that you are happy and able to do some of the work on your own at home. You will need to be able to access Zoom via a computer/tablet/mobile phone, we will help you get set up with this before the course starts.
