African Dance Class at the Lourie Center

The Lourie Center is offering an African Dance class, on Fridays 10 – 11 am, from September 18- November 13.  The focus of the 8-week class is to learn Funga, a welcome dance from Liberia, West Africa.  This is a low-impact class with gentle stretching and rhythmic movements to live drumming.

Lourie Center Full Members.  All others $75, ages 50 and up, please.  Please pre-register at info@louriecentersc.com or at 803-779-1971 x 12.

Tremontenia Morgan (Queen T) is the African Dance instructor at the Lourie Center. She has been dancing since the age of 10, performed all over the east coast, in Canada, France, and at an Inaugural Ball for President Obama in Washington, DC.  She teaches dances from Senegal, West Africa, Ivory Coast, Guinea and Liberia.
