First Friday, February 7th will be the beginning of the 2020 monthly Art Shows at Rob Shaw Gallery and Framing.
Rob Shaw, the gallery owner will present his latest body of work. This show consists mainly of Landscape paintings of South Carolina. Since beginning his gallery in April of 2019, Shaw has showcased the work of many other artists. This show is a collection of his newest paintings. Mainly large and colorful, Shaw takes the familiar landscapes of South Carolina and adds his own flair. Shaw is drawn to water in his paintings, from coastal marshes to the beach and river scenes. The way that water reflects and distorts scenes has always been interesting to the artist. The show consists of mostly large canvases painted with bright colors and bold paint application. The artist tries to bring a new, fresh perspective on traditional landscape subjects.
