Autobiography & Memoir Writing

Autobiography & Memoir Writing

Presented by Lis Anna-Langston at The Write Fiction Workshop

Are people always telling you that you should write down stories from your life? Want to preserve stories from your family for future generations? Want to just tell it like it is?

Then join us January 25th thru March 14th on Saturday mornings for eight consecutive weeks to begin the journey. We will meet 9AM to 11:30 AM.

This is an actual writing workshop. Please bring a notebook and pen and we will brainstorm and get ideas out on paper. This is to generate material about our lives. The intent of this workshop will be to get a short piece of creative nonfiction, an essay, an article or to begin a longer work like a memoir. We will use the Amherst Method of writing to prompts and organizing material. This is an incredibly fun, productive way to get ideas onto the page. This is one of my favorite workshops.

At the end of the eight sessions you should have a rough draft or a more polished draft of what you want to work on.

Each session is $20.00 per person for a total of eight sessions. At the end of the eight weeks I will do one private critique for each individual to help complete the work and give ideas on where to submit.

To sign up contact: classes@lisannalangston.com

Each session will be 2 1/2 hours and there will be a break in-between with light refreshments. Please tell me if you need anything in advance.
