The 701 πππ ππ°πΆπ΅π© ππ’π³π°ππͺπ―π’ ππͺπ¦π―π―πͺπ’π 2019 is the fifth survey of contemporary South Carolina art taking place at 701 Center for Contemporary Art.
The Biennial 2019 Part II exhibition is free and open to the public through December 22, 2019, at 701 CCA. Gallery hours: 11-5, Wed – Sat; 1-5, Sun.
The second part of 701 CCA’s Biennial features works from 12 South Carolina artists selected by an independent committee of art professionals. This year’s Part II artists are James Arendt, Steven Bleicher, Katelyn Chapman, Yvette L. Cummings, Chotsani Elaine Dean, Naomi J. Falk, Susan Lenz, Michael Marks, Dorothy Netherland, Carol Pittman, Adrian Rhodes, and Kristi Ryba. Their selected artwork includes oil or acrylic on canvas, textiles, ceramics, printmaking, and mixed media.
As the successor of the South Carolina Triennial, 701 CCA’s Biennial is the only regular event of its kind showcasing some of the best art produced statewide in a juried, multimedia exhibition. The Biennial 2019 is presented in two parts, with openings in September and November.
