AC Flora Theatre students are one of 43 schools across the country chosen to perform at the prestigious Fringe Festival in Edinburgh Scotland. Show your support by attending a performance of “The Giver”, a one-act play based on the award-winning novel by Lowis Lowry.
This science fiction story’s protagonist is 12-year-old Jonas, who lives in a utopian society where everyone is the same. He is chosen to be the “Receiver of Memory” the person who stores all the past memories of the time before “Sameness.” Jonas struggles with whether his world — where there is no pain or diversity— is good or bad and ultimately makes a daring decision.
Opportunities to see The Giver are limited. All performance are free; donations accepted to help fund the actors 14 day trip to Scotland.
Help make this dream a reality for these dedicated emerging performers!
