Lexington School of Music Celebrates New Location

Presented by Lexington School of Music at Lexington School of Music

The Lexington School of Music will celebrate its new location with a ribbon cutting on May 14 at 1 p.m. Media representatives and members of the public are invited to attend the ribbon cutting.

The school’s owner, Marty Fort, who also co-owns the successful Columbia Arts Academy, will speak about the school’s new location and its amenities. Tours of the new school, which offers space and technology for world-class music instruction for students, are available following the ribbon cutting. The Mayor of Lexington, Steve MacDougall will speak and President and CEO of The Greater Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center, Randy Halfacre, will also speak at the ribbon cutting.

Attendees at the ribbon cutting will have the chance to see the school’s 11 large practice rooms for music lessons including guitar, piano, voice, drums, bass, banjo, ukulele, mandolin and rock band classes. State-of-the-art technology at the school’s new location includes cameras in every practice room and windows for parent viewing and LED monitors in each practice room where students can attach their own devices for enhancing lessons and more. The Lexington School of Music and Columbia Arts Academy combined provide lessons to more than 1,000 Midlands students, and is the largest music school in South Carolina. Since Columbia Arts Academy opened over a decade ago, many of its students have used the skills they learned at the school and gone on to have careers in the music industry.
