We can barely believe we’re saying this…but it is officially Blue Note Poetry’s 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY Beautiful People!!! We cannot thank you all enough for making us Columbia’s #1 spot for delightfully jazzy grooves, sensational poetry features, and an ALWAYS unpredictable Open Mic! We’re keeping the good times rollin’ September 17^th, this time adding some Hip-Hop flavor to the mix with Augusta favorites Brotha Trav the Godbrotha and Gorganus. Of course the silky smooth Vasaboo group will be back to lay down the blues-infused soundscape, and we’re hoping to see YOU in the building as we celebrate our Blue Note birthday!!

Brotha Trav the Godbrotha

Brotha Trav is a native of Augusta Ga. with 20+ years’ experience writing, performing, and hosting spoken word poetry. He is also the CEO and Founder of Uprise Enterprise event promotions and artist development, and was elected Augusta’s First Poet Laureate in 2012. Trav is currently the host of the internet radio show Brotha Trav Presents: Hidden Gems.

Gorganus

I go by the name of Gorganus. Music motivates and brings people together. It is something that lived with me moving from St. Kitts to New York and now to Augusta. I stay true to the original roots of Hip Hop by incorporating the 5 elements into my work. What I do is real Hip Hop. To me this includes lyrical skills, wordplay, content, and storytelling.
