Our first class will include a hands on demonstration and brief overview of the relief printmaking process. From there we will jump directly into carving our woodblocks!

In order to make the most of these two sessions, it is encouraged to come to the first class with image ideas and designs in hand. If you are able, bring a sketch or printout of your design at scale, ready to transfer onto your block. Precut panels will be provided at 24″ by 36″ in dimension and can be cut down as needed. Class expenses will cover shared carving tools and ink rollers, a variety of color inks, and your wood panel. Paper will need to be purchased outside of class or a group paper order can be made between weeks.

This course is for anyone with an interest in print media who wants to achieve a deeper understanding of woodblock carving. First time printmakers and participants ages 16 years and older are welcome to join!
