South Carolina Youth Collective Fellows Program

South Carolina Youth Collective Fellows Program

Presented by South Carolina Collaborative for Race and Reconciliation at University of South Carolina

The South Carolina Collaborative for Race and Reconciliation is excited to announce the launch of the South Carolina Youth Collective (SCYC) Fellows Program. This program, generously funded by a grant from the Knight Foundation at Central Carolina Community Foundation, will host Columbia high school students this summer for four days of community building, civil rights history and civics education. We will choose two students from each Columbia high school, twenty-eight teens in all.

This program allows for us to raise our own leaders and hopefully influence them to stay in South Carolina and use their considerable energy to make our state the best it can be. The application is comprised of a personal statement and a project proposal that participants want to complete in their own communities. Our hope is that the Collective will build on itself, each year adding more energy to the Midlands and across the state. Applications are available on our webpage go.sc.edu/scyc
