Passing Point is a temporary public sculpture inspired by elephant ear woven baskets from the Gullah people. Passing Point creates a dialogue between mathematics, experimental architecture, and cultural traditions that are underrepresented in much of South Carolina’s public art. The sculpture, which includes multiple points of entry, allows visitors to insert themselves into a shared experience and is located on the Wayne St. of701 Whaley. Join 701 CCA artist in residence, Eto Otitigbe for a free artist talk / discussion. Participants will meet in the 701 CCA gallery where Otitigbe's solo exhibition is on display.
