Columbia Green’s 27th Annual Festival of Gardens

Presented by Columbia Green at Forest Lake Gardens

The Forest Lake neighborhood will be featured as the location for Columbia Green’s 27th Annual Festival of Gardens on Friday, May 3 and Saturday May 4, 2019. The tour will showcase 8 private gardens in this lovely neighborhood.

Originally named Dent’s Pond, Forest Lake and the surrounding areas were developed by a local prominent attorney and successful businessman and politician in the early 1900s.  Incorporated in 1935 due largely to the vision of these two gentlemen, the City of Forest Acres and the Forest Lake area are now home to many shops, businesses, and lovely neighborhoods.  Several lakes feed into Forest Lake, and the area was devastated by the 2015 flood which destroyed three dams and a bridge.  As you will see when touring these beautiful gardens and friendly neighborhoods, the Forest Lake area has rebounded well from this storm destruction.

Columbia Green is a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organized in 1984 to make the Columbia metropolitan area a more attractive place to live and work. Columbia Green is most noted for beautifying the local medians and other public areas. Beautification grants are made possible from the proceeds from the Festival of Gardens.
