Web Accessibility: Excellent UX for All

Web Accessibility: Excellent UX for All

Presented by truematter at SOCO Vista

Thousands of companies from almost every industry and market are in legal hot water because their websites and applications are difficult for people with disabilities to use. We’re talking industry giants like Pandora, Nike, Burger King, and Dominos all the way down to regional and local businesses. Even Beyonce has faced threat of lawsuit for not following web accessibility guidelines online. If it can happen to Beyonce, it can happen to you.

Of course, making your digital products accessible for everyone isn’t just the law, it’s also the right thing to do. Your company should be striving to create pleasant digital experiences for everyone simply because it’s good customer service. But it can be tricky to make sure your site or app is truly accessible for all. What are the digital issues users with disabilities face? What kind of assistive technology do they use? How do you remove the barriers keeping these customers from interacting with you online?

Join our April panel for a discussion with accessibility experts that use assistive technology themselves. They’ll talk about their frustrations online and what we, creators of digital products, should do to make sure we’re serving all users excellently online. You’ll leave understanding how to make your website or application better for all.

And, yes, armed with knowledge for making more accessible products, you’ll also be better prepared to avoid legal action. Heck, bring your legal team! They need to hear this too.
