Opera at USC presents "The Cunning Little Vixen"

Presented by USC School of Music at USC Drayton Hall

Critically acclaimed guest artist featured in star role

Leoš Janáček’s opera presents an image of an idyllic countryside filled with forest creatures and villagers. The Cunning Little Vixen, an opera in three acts, tells the tale of a little fox cub, captured by a forester, that grows to be a strong, independent vixen, breaking free into the wild, learning about the circle of life.

Opera at USC students are fortunate to have guest artist bass-baritone Kristopher Irmiter featured in the star role as the forester. Irmiter has earned broad critical acclaim for his vast range, both vocally and dramatically and is a Grammy nominated artist who has performed in all 50 states and throughout Canada.

Opera at USC offers a truly comprehensive program for both graduate and undergraduate students, covering every facet of opera production, both on stage and behind the scenes. Opera at USC is one of only a handful of colleges and universities nationwide that offers special training and practice for aspiring opera stage directors.
