CWAC Global Vision Award

Presented by Columbia World Affairs Council at Columbia Marriott

In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Columbia World Affairs Council is pleased to present Senator Hugh K. Leatherman, Sr. with the 2018 Global Vision Award. Senator Leatherman will be honored at a black-tie gala at the Columbia Marriott on Thursday, November 29, 2018. The reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner will begin at 7:45 p.m.

“Senator Leatherman has been a leader in enabling South Carolina to be one of the premier states for international investment, export growth, and international partnerships. Without his involvement, Boeing, Continental, and many other significant job creators would not have happened,” says former Columbia Mayor and Columbia World Affairs Council Board of Directors Chair Bob Coble. “He is also responsible for taking the on relationships in Asia, particularly Japan and Taiwan. And he has been critical to the success of the development of the Port of Charleston.”

This elegant evening is a celebration of Columbia’s global relationships and visibility, as well as an opportunity to mingle with prominent members of the Midlands’ international community and key players in international affairs. Join us for the black-tie gala dinner – a wine and cocktail reception will precede the dinner and award ceremony.

All proceeds support the Columbia World Affairs Council mission to serve as a catalyst for building and maintaining relationships between South Carolina and the rest of the world. Please see below for sponsorship opportunities!
