Columbia Baroque presents a wonderful evening of French Baroque music with highlights of a “Hymn of Angels” plus French suites and carols
Join Columbia Baroque as we celebrate Francois Couperin’s 350th birthday with his gorgeous “Concerts Royaux No. 4,” plus Marais’ masterpiece for viol, “The Bells of St Genevieve” featuring Gail Ann Schroeder, and Monteclair’s love-story cantata, “Pan et Syrinx” with mezzo-soprano Brittnee Siemon. Additional highlights include a “Hymn of the Angels” plus French suites and carols.
Performers for the evening are Brittnee Siemon, mezzo soprano; Jean Hein, Baroque recorders; Mary Hostetler Hoyt, Baroque violin; Erika Cutler, Baroque violin; Gail Ann Schroeder, viola da gamba; and Jerry Curry, harpsichord.
“Concert Conversations” with Peter A. Hoyt will begin at 7 p.m. followed by the performance at 7:30 p.m.
