Crafting Civil (War) Conversations commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War’s end with a juried exhibition of contemporary art that imagines a scene of reconciliation. Traditional craft-based media artists were invited to give visual and sculptural form to a scene of reconciliation between formally enslaved peoples and former enslavers. The exhibit asks: What’s at stake in how we choose to commemorate the Civil War?
