‘Untethered’ is a collection of Karl L. Larsen’s most recent visual works: an inner exploration aimed at unraveling the mindless conjectures pecking away at the 33-year old artist. These works vary wildly in style, media and content, with each piece individually lending a peephole into the creative free-for-all inside his mind. In order to relinquish his attachment to ideas he’s held on to for most of his adult life, an attempt was made to completely sever the link to mainstream train of thought in order to find clarity in today’s very strange world.

The overall tone of the collection is evident — THINK FOR YOURSELF.

While easier said than done, especially in an age when it’s becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish fact from fiction, Larsen was sure to leave plenty of bread crumbs behind for the viewer. The inspiration for this exhibition is no one single event or issue but the culmination of more than a decade questioning societal norms. The old adage, “seeing is believing” has again become relevant and led to the discarding of the old dingy and cracked lenses of viewing society to adopt the obscure.

Because… after all, truth is stranger than fiction. Right?

‘Untethered’ will exhibit from Friday, October 5th to November 30th at Frame of Mind with multiple opportunities to view the work.
