A flutist walks into a bar….

L.A. club hopping flutist brings the world of west coast flute and electronics to Tapp’s Arts Center.

Flutist Sarah Robinson mixes acoustic flute with electronic and orchestral backing from film, television, and video game composers. Flutist for Helix Collective, co-founder of Classical Revolution: L.A. and all-around renegade flute player, Sarah Robinson plays club, rock, video game, and film styles in this all-new show.

The Alumni Recital series is a fundraising event for the Carolina Flute Guild and showcases USC Flute Studio graduates who are developing exciting artistic careers all over the country.

Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door and online. Admission is free for USC students, faculty and staff. All funds go toward the USC Flute Studio scholarship fund.

Sarah Robinson is a founding member of Helix Collective, a Los Angeles-based ensemble that specializes in multi-media, collaborative performance and recording. The ensemble has released two critically acclaimed albums and has recorded the scores for over a dozen films. She is the director of the Los Angeles Live Score Film Festival and co-director of Classical Revolution: L.A. Sarah is the author of Clubbing for Classical Musicians, a guide to presenting music in alternative venues which has been called “enlightening, instructional, and inspiring.”
