Join the South Carolina State Museum and South Carolina Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum at Through the Fire, an evening event to commemorate the 150 anniversary of the Burning of Columbia and the end of the Civil War. The event, taking place from 7 – 10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, will feature Civil War-inspired food and drinks with a dramatic reading of accounts from those who witnessed Sherman’s path through the state. Actors will read from diaries, newspapers, military accounts and letters in the museum’s new BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Planetarium creating an immersive experience. There will also be a showing of 3D Civil War photographs presented by the Relic Room in the museum’s new Rev. Dr. Solomon Jackson, JR 4D Theater.
