Auditions for Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at Town Theatre!
Auditions for Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story
Called “the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll,” Buddy Holly’s works and innovations were mimicked by musicians such as The Beatles and the Rolling Stones. In 2004, Buddy was ranked #13 on the list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stones Magazine. Town Theatre will present the stage version of Buddy’s rise and run through fame until his untimely death alongside fellow musicians Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. Songs included in the show include favorites such as “Oh Boy,” “That’ll Be the Day,” “Peggy Sue,” “Everyday” and “Ready Teddy.”
Auditions will be held Sunday and Monday, August 12 & 13 at 7:30 PM. Those wishing to audition for Buddy and the Crickets should bring their instruments (except drums) and prepare a Buddy Holly song. Others auditioning should prepare 16 bars of a song of your choice (rock or pop, preferred) and should dress comfortably for movement. An accompanist will be provided. Buddy runs November 2-18, 2019 and is under the direction of Hans Boeschen. Lou Boeschen will serve as musical director and Shannon Scruggs will provide choreography.
