CSA #4 Iron & Q featuring Justin Vorhis

CSA – A unique way for people to support artists.
Ever want to experience an artists creative process? This is your chance! Why not spend two hours with an artist as they create something that you will get a piece of to take home?

1 original, signed work
45 shareholders
$47 per share
1 Unique Experience

Collectively Supported Art — is a spin on “Community Supported Agriculture” providing art lovers a share of fresh, handcrafted artwork. CSA is a distinctive opportunity to connect with innovative visual art and the talented artists behind the one-of-a-kind original artwork. Each shareholder will take home a 8” x 12” piece of the artist’s creation. The evening will include light fare, beverages, and time with the artist as they create.

But wait, there’s more! Want to purchase more than one share? Yes please! You may purchase up to four shares per person. The first 25 shares sold will get to pick their pieces the night of the event in the order the shares were purchased. The remaining shareholders will be able to choose their pieces through a random drawing, that evening. All picking will be done prior to the artist finishing the complete work of art.

Iron & Q is a special version of the CSA. Justin will be casting Iron. Yes, 2800 degrees!!! That’s hot. So we will be doing this CSA outside, at his forge on Frink St, with plenty of cold beverages and BBQ (thus the Q). Ya’ll, come have fun with us on a lovely May evening in Columbia SC.

Justin Vorhis is a South Carolina native and Marine Corps Veteran. Before enlisting, he was a machinist but soon realized he was growing bored with modern industrial machines. While on liberty in Israel, he saw a smith working in a local market and quickly realized that blacksmithing was for him. It also helped with his transition from military life back to normal life. He is self-taught and style is mostly modern ornamental with traditional influence. After a year of working on the furnace at CMC steel Cayce SC he is taking a turn into foundry work with iron and bronze.
