Children and teens ages 6 to 8 have the opportunity to get hands-on experience in the arts, creating artwork under the guidance of local artists and art instructors. Students are able to work in several art making activities!
This class will explore different printmaking techniques using recycled materials and the final project will be personalized book! The students will learn the basic techniques of relief, monoprint and screenprinting. The class is process oriented, where students will be encouraged to investigate different ways to create a print. Students will
learn to recognize objects in nature and everyday items around them, along with the chemistry of marbleizing and experimenting with bookbinding using repurposed materials. The final project will be combining prints of the week into a unique book.
