Charles Curtis is a professional musician, actor, and playwright. He began his professional career in music at the age of 12, where he fell in love with performing. Since that time, Mr. Curtis’ credits include being one of 28-featured playwrights at the 2011 National Black Theatre Festival’s Series of New Plays, with that same work premiering on the campus of Winthrop University in January 2012. He has also earned performance credits in local and regional opera, musicals, and stage plays. Curtis has earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice Performance from Presbyterian College prior to his graduate studies in Music and Counseling at the University of South Carolina. Outside of the performing world, Curtis has studied and lectured on the use of Hip Hop in teaching life skills and as an alternative to traditional talk therapy.
