About Columbia Art Center

The Art Center is a center for pottery and arts activities for the City of Columbia.  This is a community driven studio.  Membership is available for a nominal fee per session.  Each session is 2 months.   Studio members get one bag of clay, a shelf and a locker for their session participation.  There are multiple classes offered each session for both children and adults alike.  Studio members as well as class members do not pay for glazing and firing.  This is part of the membership fee as well as the class fee.  There is room for 90 members at a time in terms of membership. At the present location there is an open studio working area with 10 throwing wheels,  extruders, a slab roller and a wedging table.  There is also a glaze room with working space as well as two classrooms.  There are currently 3 kilns which average 2 loads per week each. The CAC Gallery offers to the public a mixture of art from both studio members as well as instructors.  Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday 9 am to 3 pm.
