YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN

Workshop Theatre will close out the 2013-2014 season and our tenure at 1136 Bull Street with the hilarious Mel Brooks musical comedy Young Frankenstein.

Based on the cult classic movie, and from the creators of the record-breaking Broadway sensation The Producers comes this monster new musical comedy. With such memorable tunes as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend” and “Puttin’ On The Ritz,” Young Frankenstein is scientifically-proven, monstrously good entertainment…and the only place you’ll witness a singing and dancing laboratory experiment in the largest tuxedo ever made.

Chad Henderson directs a highly talented cast featuring many Workshop Theatre veterans, including Kyle Collins, Hunter Boyle, and Vicky Saye Henderson. Musical direction is by Tom Beard, and choreography is by Mandy Applegate.

Workshop Theatre will be closing out our run at 1136 Bull Street with this show before transitioning to 701 Whaley Street for the 2014-2015 season. Patrons of Workshop Theatre will surely want to enjoy one final evening in the location we have all grown to love over the years.

This show also serves as a curtain call for long-time scenic designer Randy Strange, who will be retiring at the end of this season. He has been involved in the Columbia theatre community for 39 years, and here at Workshop since 1982. Randy and his spectacular sets will be dearly missed.
