Weatherfest

EdVenture, along with representatives from the National Weather Service, will share information on severe weather, flooding and hurricanes. Children will learn the role of TV meteorologists as well as local emergency management agencies, the Coast Guard, and relief groups like the Red Cross and amateur radio. They can pretend to be a TV meteorologist in front of a portable green screen and “practice” their own weather reports. Information will be shared on the October 2015 flooding and Hurricane Matthew, with meteorologists answering questions from the children. Weather-related crafts and activities will be offered.
