With an ensemble of four performers, Terrance Henderson explores the relationships between ethnicity, sexuality and society in this full-length work, which incorporates movement, sound and images, all interwoven with Henderson’s original text and choreography. A search for identity, an emotional journey towards a sacred place, a challenge, a plea, The Black Man. . .Complex utilizes a tapestry of artistic elements to give audience members a sense of one artist’s expression of the complexity of finding one’s rightful place in the world.
