John Wayne plays Ethan Edwards, a Confederate soldier returning from the war to live with his brother in Texas. When his niece (Natalie Woods) is abducted by a Native-American tribe, Ethan embarks on a quest to find her. Called “the most influential movie in American history” by New York magazine, The Searchers delivers a gripping tale of one man’s life after the Civil War.

Film will be introduced by Bob Brinkmeyer, director at the Institute for Southern studies at USC.
