Sugared, is an exhibition that focuses on the pervasive and unnecessary use of added sugar in commercial food products. Each meticulously crafted work uses combinations of sugar, wood, ceramic, metal and glass to raise questions about excess and ritual. By exaggerating the features of objects associated with eating, this show examines the relationship between domestic and industrial aspects of refined sugar.

Eric Adams was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He is currently pursing a Masters of Fine Arts degree in studio art at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Jacksonville University in 2010. He was a Visiting artist at Jacksonville University in 2011 and has received scholarships to Penland School of crafts. He has participated in exhibitions throughout the Southeast including Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina and South Carolina.
