Love, Loss & Friendships
Workshop Theatre and Paul Mitchell The School Columbia proudly present the Southern classic Steel Magnolias
Honey, it’s the 1980s, in Monroe, Louisiana, at Truvy’s beauty shop — motto: “There’s no such thing as a natural beauty” — the women are all sass and brass. Through clouds of hairspray and over the buzz of blow dryers, six Southern spitfires gather each week to gossip and support each other through thick and thin. But those bonds are about to be tested when M’Lynn and her daughter Shelby face a life-changing event. Infused with heart and humor, Steel Magnolias is a hilarious story of love, loss, and enduring friendship.
Director Jocelyn Sanders and assistant director Hans Boeschen guide a talented cast that includes Melanie Barden, Raia Hirsch, Becky Hunter, Zsuzsa Manna, Ellen Rodillo-Fowler, and Cathy Carter Scott.
Steel Magnolias is proudly sponsored by Paul Mitchell The School Columbia. All performances will be at The Market Space at 701 Whaley.
