Anupama Bhagwat has made a mark as one of the few women sitar players in the country. Her sensitivity and erudition has taken her to the highest echelons of the modern genre, while remaining true to tradition. Her style is characterized by scintillating fast taans, mastery of the meditative alaap, and brilliant fluency of melody (raagbhava).
