This wide-ranging, end-of-summer young artists festival will celebrate the achievements of participants in a broad array of art-related summer camps that took place throughout the summer in the Midlands. The festival will show the great variety of camps, the many activities they have offered during the summer, and the enthusiasm of participating young artists and their instructors and family members.
Wim Roefs, board chair of 701 CCA, sees this as a unique opportunity to bring together Columbia’s annual summer camp programs. “We are excited about our camp. We extended an invitation to other programs in the city and received a good response. There are a lot of fun games, mini workshops and performances planned. This is a celebration of young artists and a great way to end the summer,” states Roefs.
701 Center for Contemporary Art is a visual art center that promotes understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of contemporary art, the creative process, and the role of art and artists in the community. The center also encourages interaction between visual arts and other art forms.
