Dr. Barry Barish is the Linde Professor of Physics and Emeritus Director of the LIGO Observatory at the California Institute of Technology as well as a leading expert on gravitational waves. He has been elected as a member to numerous prestigious scientific organizations such as the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
