Join us for an installation workshop with 701 CCA Prize 2014 winner, Shannon Rae Lindsey, in the 701 CCA Artist Loft at 701 Whaley St. 2nd Floor, Ste. 205. Lindsey is an interdisciplinary artist who explores drawing, painting, sculpture and installation with unconventional materials and processes. Workshop participants will explore processes of installation art on a small scale with provided materials and the guidance of the artist. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have developed a mini installation made of foam core that responds to spatial challenges modeled after the 701 CCA gallery. Get to know the artist and the process behind her work as you create your own installations! How will you fill the space?
The workshop will begin at 10am and lunch will be served. Registration for members is $50 and non-members, $60. Models of parts of the 701 CCA gallery will be provided as the canvas for each participant as well as the materials for the installation. The age limit for the workshop is twelve unless accompanied by a adult. There is limited space so call 803-319-9949 for reservations, email info@701cca.org or visit the website!
