Next Step Throwing: Building on the Basics

This 6-week class is designed specifically to meet the needs of the person who knows basic throwing techniques but wants to advance their throwing skills. Some skills that will be taught are forming a cylinder into a shape, creative decorative designs on clay, creating and attaching handles, throwing and fitting a lid, and shaping a spout for a pitcher. For requirements, students must have knowledge of basic throwing and be able to center the clay and pull a small cylinder. Registration fee covers instruction and operational costs. Students must have their own pottery tools. (Tool kits are available at the Art Center for $10.) Minimum number of students is 3 Max is 6.
