Mind Gravy Open Mic to Feature Poet John M. Starino

John M. Starino is a Performance Poet, Author, and Emcee.  As referenced by a fellow Poet and Host of Mind Gravy, Al Black: “[He can be found] reciting verses to the mayor on Main Street, selling poetry in stairwells, or starting another open mic.”  John habitually draws from his time of being a caregiver for his parents from 2001 – 2004 for inspiration.  Besides stairwells and street corners you can find his three books online by looking for Onion Season Pt. 1, Onion Season Pt. 2, and They Are Only Spoons.

Mind Gravy is hosted at Cool Beans, 1217 College Street every Wednesday night at 8:00 PM near the Horseshoe in the heart of the University of South Carolina.
