Mayan Gods, Warriors & Pyramids @ First Thursdays on Main Street!

Join us next Thursday, October 2, 2014 as we celebrate
the Mayan culture during First Thursdays on Main Street.

Mayan culture is known for its spectacular art, impressive architecture, and sophisticated mathematical and astronomical systems which were all way ahead of its time. Come learn about this Mesoamerican civilization and help us build a pyramid.
Select your favorite Mayan God and/or glyph, color it and
add it to the pyramid. Also witness how painter Adam Schrimmer,
an emotional expressionist artist, creates a life-size
Mayan warrior during the event!

Mayans on Main Street is Part of Palmetto Luna Arts’
Latino Arts in Motion, an initiative aimed to present Latino
artistic and cultural activities in public venues across the state.
