Lecture: How the Civil War Transformed Religion in South Carolina

Charles H. Lippy is the LeRoy A. Martin Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies Emeritus at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He has written or edited more than two dozen volumes on religion in American life including the Encyclopedia of Religion in the South and Religion in South Carolina. Dr. Lippy will speak on the Civil War’s influence on postbellum religious life in the state.
