Intro to Screenwriting - Indie Grits Labs Workshop

The course techniques and guidance can be applied to the writing of many other film forms such as documentary, industrial, commercial, on-line applications and short narrative films. The class will include a study of the screenplay form, structure and writing, including developing stories that will provide a foundation for continued work. Beginning with the creation of compelling characters then setting them in cinematic action in proper industry formatted scenes leading to a completed screenplay. Students will write at least one expository (first act) scene along with character descriptions and a complete story synopsis.
