Hand Building Basics

This is a 6 week class designed to equipment the student with the basics of hand building pottery. Some of the skills that will be taught include: Information on types and qualities of clay, knowledge of basic tools, techniques associated with pinch pots, coils and working with slabs; Targeted hand building and instruction on glazes. Students must have their own pottery tool kits (available at Columbia Art Center). Minimum number in class 3 and maximum number is 10. Alternating Instructors: Candace Catoe & Barbara Mitchell
