Hand Building Basics

This 6 week class is designed to equip the student with the basics of pottery. This includes but is not limited to: information on clay types; knowledge of basic tools, techniques associated with pinch pots, coils and working with slabs. There will be targeted hand building. An estimated 4 projects will be completed. Class fee of $90 includes instructor fee and operational costs. Students will need to bring a basic pottery tool kit. All other materials are supplied. A new class begins every other month. Class meets each Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm at the Columbia Art Center, 1227 Taylor Street, Columbia SC. Contact for information: bloliver@columbiasc.net
