Great Day in Columbia Jazz Community Photo & Jam Session

60 years ago, on August 12, 1958, the famous “A Great Day in Harlem” photo was taken by Art Kane, a freelance photographer working for Esquire magazine. This August 12, 2018, on the 60th Anniversary, you are invited to participate in our own “A Great Day in Columbia”.

Calling all jazz musicians of the Columbia, SC and Columbia-area jazz scene, great and small, to come be in this historical photo celebrating our Columbia Jazz Scene! If you have played jazz in Columbia as a bandleader, sideman, a jazz educator, or in some way an active part in our growing, living jazz scene, you should be there.
