Gallery Opening Reception: Artist in Residence Miles Purvis

Currently residing in Columbia, South Carolina, Purvis specializes in mixed-media art. Her expressive collages are composed, using re-purposed and recycled materials along with painted papers. Purvis says she is influenced by her love of culture, history and music. If you would like to take a closer look at Purvis’ work, it’s set to go on display from 6 – 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 4 during a reception in the Richland Library Gallery (1431 Assembly Street). The solo exhibit – titled Collate – is going to feature around 25 pieces that represent her interpretation of characters and personalities.
